I wanted to take a few minutes and share my story with you….
Barre at CDR is so much more than a workout to me… it’s a lifestyle, it’s a mindset, it’s a community of women, and it’s about achieving long term health.
I came across a barre studio in San Diego while in search of a new form of fitness that I could be passionate about again. After competing in crossfit at a very high level for 4 years, I had beat my body up and had lost my passion for working out due to all the aches and pains that come along with competing at this level. I knew I wanted and needed to be working out, but needed something that could meet my fitness goals. I wanted a workout that was going to:
*give noticeable and lasting results, I want to feel good and look good (don’t we all???)
*be fun, safe, and effective for my body
*be centered around a positive community of like-minded women
*I found answers to ALL of this at Barre at CDR…
I am the smallest and most toned I have been since high school, those noticeable and lasting results happen when you come in consistently!
My body feels AMAZING because of the safe and effective workouts we do, my aches and pains are gone and my flexibility has improved dramatically, and finally
I LOVE the positive women and fun community environment
I am passionate about fitness, nutrition, overall health and WOMEN. I am deeply passionate about inspiring and empowering women to experience this in their lives, where we are all working to be emotionally, physically, and spiritually healthy together. In every class clients are given opportunities to make their workout more challenging, technique tips on how to modify as needed, and every instructor focuses on the individual needs and goals of each client.
CDR CARDIO BARRE is A structured, easy-to-follow 55-minute class routine. This class alternates deep muscle-toning movements along with intervals of fat-blasting cardio techniques. The fluid dance-inspired class is set to an upbeat music selection at a vigorous pace to get your heart pumping. No dance experience is required, and accessible for all levels.
CDR BARRE – TONE and TIGHTEN class is the perfect blend of deep muscle toning: From the fluidity of ballet, the flexibility of yoga and the core strengthening of Pilates. The class is designed in specific sequences that build strength from static movements and also flexibility from long, sweeping dance-based movements. This dynamic class is a perfect entry class to The Barre at CDR; available to all fitness levels. This is a 55 minute class.
The Barre at CDR is a fun, energetic, workout that fuses techniques from Dance, Pilates, and functional fitness that will tone, define and chisel the whole body. The Barre at CDR is the perfect combination of strength and flexibility with an added cardiovascular element utilizing the barre with fun, upbeat music.
In just 55 minutes you will achieve a whole body workout concentrating on the areas women struggle with the most. We work triceps, biceps, shoulders, chest, back, glutes, legs, and core using low-impact, weight bearing exercises that are extremely efficient movements for muscle strength and toning. Each strength section of the workout is followed by a stretching section in order to create long, lean muscles without bulk. The technique works to give you proportion that is shapely and attractive.
The Barre at CDR’s exists to empower women to realize their own strength, talents, and abilities within a strong and supportive community. Our mission is to continually bring a fun, fresh, safe, and challenging whole body workout that gives women beautiful, lean, toned, and healthy bodies for life.
You will start with a warm-up, then perform an upper body workout with light dumbbells or bands. Next, you experience a total body barre workout, finishing with deep sculpting abdominal work. Plus, you can count on burning a whole lot of calories!
We recommend leggings or capris that you are comfortable in (shorts aren’t recommended) and a top that covers your midriff. You will also want to wear sticky grip socks to retain your body’s heat as well as prevent your feet from sliding (you’ll thank us later). You may bring your own, or we have them available for purchase at the studio. You’ll want to remove your shoes and put on your socks before you walk through the studio (you’ll be lying down during class, so this is just an effort to keep the floors as tidy as possible). Bring a water bottle.
For best results it’s recommended to take at least 3-4 classes a week.
